It was officially released that Disney is offering the Magic Your Way with Dining Plan Add-On for free when you book a 3-night or longer Magic Your Way package (your package must contain at least a single-day base ticket).
Travel dates are August 26, 2007 through September 22, 2007. Booking dates are April 9, 2007 through June 24, 2007 for Disney VISA Card holders, and is expected to be April 12, 2007 through June 24, 2007 for the general public.
This is an amazing deal. We took advantage of this last year and were able to eat at really nice places for free. One of the most expensive things about Disney World is the food, so it’s great not to have to worry about that expense. Just to give you an idea of the savings, to ad this option for our family for our trip would be about $900. The promotion is that they give you this for free. Each person in your room gets one snack, one counter service meal and one table service meal per night that you stay.
If you plan to take advantage of this, I would book it ASAP. This will probably sell out pretty quickly. You can book it with a deposit of $200, and the balance will be due 45 days before your trip. You can cancel for a full refund until then. Also, I would recommend making all of your table service dining reservations now. This takes a little planning, but there is no cost to do it. Believe it or not, with the free dining promotion, the restaurants will be all booked up if you don’t. You will end up eating at the places that aren’t very good. I heard many people complain about this last year when they tried to use their table service credits and very little was available.
The travel agent I use is Dream Come True Vacations. I like using a travel agent that specializes in Disney vacations. They really know what they are talking about and work really hard to get you the best deal. It does not cost a penny more to use a travel agent as going directly through Disney. If you decide to book a trip and use them, I will get a $25 referral credit if you mention my name. You can do the same with people you tell and get even more discounts on your trip. The guy I use is Joe, and he is really helpful. He usually responds to my emails within minutes of asking him a question. Here’s their web site…
